Wendy Amann

Wendy graduated with a BS in Mech Eng from the Colorado School of Mines but works as a Civil/Structural Engineer. She is a registered Professional Engineer in 8 states and became a Certified Quality Auditor as well as a Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence when she assumed the role of Quality Director for Huitt-Zollars, Inc. a couple of years ago. She is active in NCEES (National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors), participating on the Civil PE Exam Development Committee and Licensure Committee. She is also active in SAME (Society of American Military Engineers) and is the Rocky Mountain Regional Vice President. Wendy was awarded SAME Fellow status in 2023.

Wendy has 30+ years of experience on structural projects for a wide range of industries with nearly 16 years in the Huitt-Zollars Denver office including 7 years as the Managing Principal. Wendy serves as a principal in charge, a project manager, and a quality control manager for various projects throughout the firm. Wendy has managed design teams of all sizes in the preparation of construction documents and reports for projects of all sizes constructed from any variety of materials and techniques. In the last couple of years, she has led regional organizational excellence operations, establishing firmwide QA/QC protocols and design procedures for large-scale initiatives
